The combination is deliberate, and it's based on something simple: natural fibers give a textile its body; metallic ones give it its edge. In a rug, this means a surface that feels grounded but doesn't disappear into the floor. In a table runner or placemat, it means something that works at breakfast and still looks elevated at a dinner. In a basket or lamp, the metallic thread does something the natural fiber can't!
